How to Use Kérastase Gloss Absolu: The Complete Anti-Frizz Ritual

May 03, 2026

If you've spent any time in a luxury salon, you've probably been introduced to the Kérastase Gloss Absolu ritual — a five-step system engineered to seal the cuticle, neutralize humidity, and deliver glass-finish shine that lasts for days.

At Cérène Cosmetics, we use Gloss Absolu in our own concept salon every week. Here's exactly how to use it at home.

Who Gloss Absolu Is For

Gloss Absolu is engineered for hair that's prone to frizz — thick, color-treated, chemically textured, or simply living in a humid climate. The line uses hyaluronic acid, glycolic acid, and wild rose oil to repair the cuticle and seal in shine.

STEP 1: Bathe

Start with the Bain Hydra-Glaze shampoo. Massage into wet hair and scalp, then rinse. The formula is hydra-illuminating, which means it cleanses without stripping moisture — critical for frizz control.

STEP 2: Treat

Follow with the Insta Glaze conditioner. Apply from mid-lengths to ends, leave on for 1-2 minutes, then rinse. This is the gloss-enhancing step — your hair will feel noticeably softer and more aligned.

STEP 3: Texturize

On wet, towel-dried hair, mist Anti-Frizz Glaze Milk through lengths before blow-drying. This adds a heat-protective layer and disciplines flyaways.

STEP 4: Finish

Once dry and styled, finish with 2-3 drops of Glaze Drops hair oil rubbed between the palms and pressed onto mid-lengths and ends. This is what creates the mirror-shine finish.

The Bonus Step: Le Parfum

For special occasions, mist Gloss Absolu Le Parfum through dry hair as a final touch — the same scent profile as the line, in a wearable hair perfume.

Save with the Bundle

If you want the full ritual at a saving, our curated Gloss Absolu Mirror-Shine Trio bundles the three core essentials — shampoo, conditioner, and hair oil — at a 15% saving versus buying individually.
